Monument Valley, the iconic, edifice-strewn northwestern corner of the Navajo Nation, is a place of such stunning beauty and serenity that it has an effect on even the most undiscerning visitor.

Like a string of twinkling Christmas lights, the headlamps stretched into the distance up the mountain. Its pitch black and we can’t find the trail. In the pre-dawn hours on O’ahu we can only see the long row of lights marking the headlamps of hikers on the Koko Crater Stairs.

Now, baseball isn't exactly my cup of tea. Watching a televised baseball game is surely one of the seven circles of hell and only topped by televised golf on the boring scale. Live baseball games on the other hand, when you add in beer, people watching and junk food, aren't so bad - you might even say that they are fun (ok, I say it too!).
